THAT'S ME OUTTA HERE!

I've decided to take a break from the blogs. Short or long, temporary or permanent, haven't decided yet.

Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me and taken part in my blog discussions over the last few months. I've made many new friends and even if I never meet you (this side of heaven or the rapture) it's been a great experience.

Thanks also to those who have disagreed with me but have done so in a spirit of friendliness and mutual respect. Special thanks to those I have rubbed up the wrong way but have still tolerated my stroppy comments on their blogs!

Sadly not everyone thinks the blogs are there for interesting, challenging and thought provoking debate. There are those who assume they have the right to shriek that their point of view is not only correct, but the only one worth considering, and also to 'slap down' and quote endless scriptures at those who think differently {I respect far more someone who disagrees and responds in their own words - supported by scripture where appropriate of course}. It is normally my policy to stand up to bullies, but I have greater priorities for my time and energy just now and so must simply ask such people to read Matthew 10 v 14-15 {and maybe Revelation 10v10 in the NIV} to discern my response to them.

So that's it for now. Like Arnie, I may be back, or I may not. Best wishes and God's blessings to all, and please don't EVER forget that salvation is
"BY GRACE ALONE, THROUGH FAITH ALONE, IN CHRIST ALONE"

Peter

All the best to you, Peter. You bring great depth and insight into the blogs and I do hope that you will be back.

Thanks for your support and encouragement Hellen. If everybody agreed with your comment here and valued what I share then I probably wouldn't be taking this break.

God bless.

Where He leads I will follow. Amen?

Amen indeed! Since Jesus suffered undeservedly and no servant is greater than his master I suppose none of us has a right to expect to be spared it. Thanks for caring enough to comment.

God bless.

I dont blame you, Im sick of this place myself. More than anything the way some people here are just ALWAYS trying to start some sort of trouble in one way or another.

Its probably better to just spend time alone with God.

I cant even feel free to say my own opinions without someone making a big deal of it and starting something over it.

Im sick of it. People lying and misrepresenting things... etc... the abusive mean-spirtedness, the under-handed tactics... just all of it.

Ive gotten to where I make my blog posts Read Only posts or pending posts so I dont have to deal with the garbage some people try to put on there... and I hardly say anything on other people's blogs anymore.

People who hardly ever post anything "controversial" dont know what its like and how other people just zero in on you like vultures waiting to swoop down on you and attack you.

Ive got people come to my blog trying to tell me what my posts should be about, that I should leave my church, and that I shouldnt talk about bible prophecy, etc... It just seems like some of these people are way too controlling. And they cant seem to allow for someone to have their own opinions. Three of these people seem just about mental cases, to me, at least, they seem that way.

Anyway, I dont know, Im thinking of just making ALL my posts Read Only from now on and not saying a word on anyone else's. And not even reading anyone else's and that way I dont have to put up with the meanness. I feel like I cant even dare to have my own opinions.

Its either that or I will have to start posting about what new hair color Im thiking of having... or what I might have for breakfast tomorrow. Non-Controversial things.

Thanks for your comment Claudia and I understand where you are coming from. If/when I come back to the blogs I think I will make all my posts "blogger approval pending" - if I had done that this time I would have been able to prevent the "WE ARE NOT WORTHLESS!!" post from being ruined. But I don't think there would be any point in being here at all if I make them all "read only" and never comment anywhere else.

I've enjoyed debating with you and hope we can manage to keep in touch. By the way I'll probably have porridge for breakfast tomorrow morning! After that I'm off to Cambridge for my cousin's wedding.

God bless.

Hi Peter - I say this every time someone leaves: Ignore the obstreperous ones, write what is in your heart to write and let the rest go. I write for myself and the Lord. Don't give a rip if anyone likes it, agrees with it or not. I never enter into any blog discussion that is argumentative or creates disharmony. I don't read anyone who puts a looooonnnnggg scripture laden comment on my posts LOL. I don't delete 'em, just don't read or respond! I'm not trying to convince you to stay - just sharing my perspective that blogging (for me) isn't about trying to play nice with everyone here. It's an outlet for me to write and outside of that, if someone is blessed, convicted or offended - that's out of my control. I am annoyed by all those who write posts directed at other bloggers - we won't change them if they don't agree with us, they have demonstrated they don't want to discuss. So ignore them and interact with the majority of the folks who are pleasant and friendly and love the Lord. A fire can only burn when folks keep fueling the fire. Bless you brother!

Hi Susan. Thanks for your comment. That's good advice and if/when I come back I'll make use of it. But my reasons for posting are a little different to yours and I enjoy the cut and thrust of a good debate. I don't even mind my own cage being rattled as long as there is some basic awareness of acceptable limits on the part of whoever is rattling it! I'll probably make my blogs "blogger approval pending" in the future so I can control the direction of the exchange better.

Anyway as I say I'm taking a break after today so you look after yourself and take care. Thanks for your support and encouragement in recent months and I hope to renew contact soon.

God bless.

Hi Wendy. Well I think it's only a temporary break but as well as being cheesed off after the blog-fight I also want to get on with writing the second book so need to devote more time and energy in that direction and stop 'wasting it' on pointless arguments.

Thanks for your friendship and encouragement and support. Keep on trusting Jesus for the future and everything will be OK (in the end - but there may be some troubles to survive first!) Yes let's keep in touch.

God bless.
Peter
