ENGLAND IS GREAT TOO!!

Since you are all celebrating Canada Day and US Independance Day, I thought I would celebrate the greatness of England by posting the lyrics of William Blake's fanatstic hymn "JERUSALEM". {By the way you should hear the version by Emerson Lake and Palmer which is truly awe inspiring!}

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green
And was the holy lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen

And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic mills

Bring me my bow of burning gold
Bring me my arrows of desire
Bring me my spears o'clouds unfold
Bring me my chariot of fire

I will not cease from mental fight
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land

The USA is underseige of trying to do away with the constitution that made it great. Socialists are trying to take over as well as Marxists. It is having its own problems.

The same socalism that has failed everywhere is linda being pushed out of England, France and Germany. Canada is not far behind as all are in trouble.

Yes, we're all in the same mess. Thankfully we've all got the same Jesus to dig us out of it sooner or later. By the way, who is Linda?

Greetings Noah,
I would love to visit a place in England called Glastonbury. Not for it's big music festival, which is promoted, but to see the abby that still stands above what is considered the site of a chapel built by Mary, Christ's mother. Have you ever visited Glastonbury, or the ancient Isle of Avalon? There is also said to be a rose bush there, which blooms twice a year, and the only one of it's kind, reported to be planted by Christ Himself, while on a trip to the Isle, with His uncle, Joseph of Arimithea.

No King but CHRIST JESUS!!!

Greetings. No I've never been to Glastonbury, or to the Isle of Avalon, which is surprising because I am the sort of person who goes to music concerts a lot! I've never really looked into the legend that Jesus visited England, on which the hymn "Jerusalem" is based, but I think it is unlikely. Anyway, that is perhaps a discussion for another day! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment.

Peter, I agree that England is great! Some day I will see it!
After all, that's where some of my ancestors are from!

( the rest are from Scotland and Wales!)

Noah235 replies on 7/1/2008 8:17 am:
No need to keep it quiet - I love the Scottish and Welsh people, and the Irish too! Of course all of our ancestors are from the Middle East (see Genesis 10v32) and I hope one day to visit there too.

Depends who you talk to. St. George's Day 23rd April is special to England but Scotland, Wales and Ireland don't join in with that! The signing of the Magna Carta was 15th June 1215 which might explain why the Queen's "Official Birthday" is in June. But we're not big on shouting our mouths off about ourselves. Have a great 4th July.

Hi JustChristian1, Hi Noah,
I just noticed the mention of Glastonbury. I've been there a couple of times. It is really picturesque - the abbey, the rosebush too - that area is really peaceful and serene. The town centre unfortunately isn't! It's pretty architecturally but there is a real 'heaviness' there. There's a lot of folklore around that area and it's absolutely full of new age, spiritist shops and even shops openly selling items associated with witchcraft. Wherever I've travelled, anywhere in the world, I've never seen anywhere so openly devoted to the occult sadly. The place is saturated with it!!!

Hi VBB, thanks for making time in your very busy schedule to stop by and comment! Although I have never been to Glastonbury one of my favourite musicians was part of the very first Glastonbury Festival in 1970 and in fact I think he and his band 'headlined' the day. In my picture if you look carefully you will see his face on my t-shirt!
God bless.

Hi Noah!,
Who's the guy on the T-shirt? I got my reading specs. on and got right up to the screen but I can't tell! (Think I need some new glasses!!) Do tell, curiosity is eating away at me now!!!........Blessings, Bee.

Noah235 replies on 7/1/2008 1:19 pm:
You'll be able to see if you look at my profile! And if you still don't get it (even though his first name is visible on the t-shirt) look at my list of favourite musicians and you will see it straight away!

{Well, I have to get people looking at my profile somehow!}

Yup. England is great! Have been there twice and still lots more to explore.

(Went to YouTube to listen to Emerson, Lake & Palmer...'tis a good rendition!)

Noah235 replies on 7/1/2008 6:53 pm:
I never realised it was on You Tube! Must go and find it and listen. It was originally on a live album with a very long title: "Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends". It's usually just referred to as "Welcome Back"!

Glad you liked it - and England!

Greetings VBB and Noah,
What a shame that Glastonbury has become so inundated with the occult, yet, does it not make sense that satan and his would attack a place that may contain truths, with vigor? That rosebush blooms when others of that area come into bloom, and at the same time rosebushes from Jerusalem bloom also. It had once been attempted to be destroyed, by fire, and was burnt to the ground, and it was said after, it would never blossom again, yet, it came back with vigor and still blooms to this day. There have been some that have taken clippings of it, and these clone bushes, bloom twice a year as well. No other is like it. I believe there is also a well said to be dug by Christ as well, and is called by Christ Jesus' name also. It is a fact that Christ Jesus' uncle Joseph of Arimithea had tin mines, as he was a tin trader, and was given rights by Rome to procure tin from the British Isles. Just a read of the Scottish declaration of Independence will show one some interesting history concerning who the Scots came from, and we know the Scots and the Brits are the same people really. Who was it Jeremiah took with him when he left the promised land, and where did they go, is an interesting study.....Where did that coronation stone every king or queen of England sits upon when taking their oath to the country, come from?

No King but CHRIST JESUS!!!

Looks like I've got some more historical stuff to research! I must expect I never expected all this when I posted the lyrics to "Jerusalem". Thanks for stirring up my curiosity!

I find Tropical Man to be spot on quite a lot of the time. I am sure he is right with his post on here. The reason you can't see my profile is because you are a Standard member and need to upgrade to Silver or Gold. I'm not sure what you mean by "visit me" so you can see my profile. I would be quite happy to email you attaching that part of my profile they will let me send.
