So many different ideas about "perfection" don't hold water as we all know. So many theories about "perfection" try to define it in terms that folks like to apply universally- -when such a definition excludes "small details" as inconsequential. Most folks also say "perfection" in their life- -is simply IMPOSSIBLE since "they are human and will always mess up". And for most folks that is indeed absolute truth- -UNLESS there is something "easy and light" to do that they simply CAN NOT MESS UP. Jesus mentioned "easy and light" as a "yoke" to put on us- -IF we wanted to do something PERFECTLY. Why did He describe that "yoke" as easy and light? Simple. It IS easy and light to be PERFECT as He was trying to describe US if we would follow a single set of instructions HE proscribed as "easy and light". If we DO those simple instructions word by word, step by step and do not skip a step, ignore a word or just give up and walk away- -IT WILL LITERALLY FORCE US TO UNDERSTAND GOD'S IDEA OF PERFECTION and we will STOP trying to define it OUR OWN WAY. So. Anyone up for an experiment in "perfection"? Just a little one? CAN YOU FOLLOW JESUS AND DO WHAT HE DID- in just one thing to start with? I believe you can- -Jesus SAID you can, and deep inside- -YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR SURE on something small -- before you try something even smaller.  Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. If you wish to follow JESUS in ONE TINY DETAIL PERFECTLY-- jump in and say so here on this blog. Don't be shy- -it's not a test and it's not a "trick". It will show you that you CAN INDEED FOLLOW JESUS INTO PERFECTION AND GOD'S GLORY. No need to "fall short" unless you refuse to follow Christ in this one simple easy and light "job". When folks sign in and sign up for the experiment- once it becomes known what the "job" actually is- i believe even MORE will jump in too. It's just too easy and light not to. "whosoever will- may come" (Rev22v17 ) and if you believe in JESUS- you WILL come and take this easy and light yoke upon you. "water of Life"... "Come". Once I see enough folks who want "easy and light" saying so- I guarantee- -you can do this one little thing- PERFECTLY. one step at a time. And tell yer friends something's up with that loud abrasive and "stop sinning" "Jesus ONLY" nut job guy again. Cuz this one will make them perfect too. One little step at a time. Perfection... Possible? Yup... IF ya wanna TRY. |

Gordy, okay if we are testing ourselves about perfection as Jesus taught it, He said love others no matter how they act. So is the test here that you are going to be as mean as you possibly can and see if we can answer back in a nice way to you? Im only joking All I will be doing is showing you ONE thing about Jesus and what HE DID- that YOU WILL ALSO DO EXACTLY AS HE DID. In that ONE LITTLE DETAIL- YOU WILL PROVE THAT YOU CAN DO WHAT HE DID-- PERFECTLY AS HE DID IT BY THE FATHER'S COMMAND. That IS the way perfection works- KNOWING what to do- and doing it just as JESUS DID IT. Then- step by step IF YOU WANT TO- into the very glory of God that PAUL said HE NEVER FOUND AND SUGGESTED YOU NAVER CAN. But you CAN. Jesus said so.SOooooooooooooooo this one little thing is as JESUS said- easy and light, simple and directly folowing Him and what He did FIRST- and we can emulate..... PERFECTLY- even if we don't know WHY He did it- yet. K? Aint about "loving gordy anyway"... yer supposed to LOVE GOD AND FOLLOW HIS SON NO MATTER WHAT- not prove you can "love gordy anyway". Simplify your thinking- He said "Unless you become as these little ones"- Meaning just follow SIMPLE EASY AND LIGHT INSTRUCTIONS one little step at a time... Soooooooooooo how much more should we TRY TO COMPLICATE THINGS with our own faulty understanding...? "Little ones" would simply watch Him- and then follow as He leads them through the perfect steps to God's glory. We can too. If we DON'T ADD TO- OR TAKE AWAY from what Jesus said and did. that help? SIMPLE instructions that we can indeed do --- perfectly. No "faith" necessary- EXCEPT DIRECTLY IN HIM AND ONLY HIM. Nothing else in the entire universe- BUT JESUS. Perfection... Possible? Yup... Let's also do some set up work here- We all know about Bethlehem, Egypt and most all of those ideas expressed in the 4 Gospels. Only one thing to say- Those details MATTER to some of the things we will bring back to mind later. We also know the story about the deep discussions and discourse in the temple and how well amazed the listeners were when they heard His discourse about the OT and it's true meanings etc while Mom and dad were on the way home and had to go back. SOoooo some of those things will be brought to mind later as well. As I tried to say- READ AND STUDY THE 4 GOSPELS- cuz there is where we are going- finding little pearls that ADD TO OUR DEEPER understanding of the very Son Of the Living God and what HE WAS SENT TO TEACH FROM THE FATHER'S OWN MIND. We also know that when He is next mentioned- John the baptist was already hard at work. We do know those details and the fact that Jesus was in the WILDERNESS for a reason and that things happened there that we have VERY few details about. We will stipulate and agree- the NT gives us those details from before birth- through birth and up to the end of the wilderness events and we will not question or debate ANYTHING that the 4 Gospels have to say in ANY of those details up to and through Jesus kicking satan to the curb and then leaving the wilderness again. It is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS at this juncture- to do more than KNOW what is said about Jesus and understand that we will reference some of those details and reference them later IF NEEDED for clarification of WHY we will be doing certain things later on. The ONLY purpose of this first step is to leave all debate, theory and differences we may have- completely behind. We will focus on Jesus and each current moment of HIS in the 4 Gsopels we need to focus on to separate out details that come LATER from the things we need in the present moment of study and DOING the exact same thing Jesus did in this FIRST STEP. It's exciting and it's hugely boring at the same time- since we ALLLLLLL know what happened in the story- but not WHY JESUS DID IT BACK THEN. And I'm NOT gunna splain out all the reasons... You WILLLLLL do as Jesus did- or you WILLLLLLLLL scoff and walk away empty. It is YOUR DECISION- FOLLOW HIM- or go back to your own stuff. Simple as the young ruler did. HE didn't know what Jesus was talking about yet- but said he couldn't afford to OBEY AND TRY IT OUT. Let's NOT make that same mistake THIS TIME. We MUST follow every bit of what was going on back then. BUT WE CAN DO IT BETTER, FASTER, EASIER AND LIGHTER IN 2008- and with just a TINY BIT OF FAITH IN JESUS- we will unleash a revival of HIS SPECIFIC TEACHINGS that will set the world AND THE CHURCH on it's EAR- wondering what is going on and how it is even POSSIBLE. It's NOT ABOUT RELIGION. God is NOT RELIGIOUS- and we will be DOING the IMPOSSIBLE by Following HIS SON PERFECTLY. That is how GREAT IS OUR LORD. He did NOT leave us a bogus religion that does NOT LEAVE US SHORT- HIS JOB IS TO GET US TO GOD'S GLORY. He said FOLLOW ME- and this time- SOME OF US WILL--- AGAIN. ONE TINY STEP AT A TIME... "lest ye become as little children- you WILL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM"... He really DID mean that. STAY BEHIND THE LESSONS JESUS LEFT US- Don't get ahead of them. Perfection... Possible? Yup... Nope. Nothing "frightening" at all. EXCEPT if we screw up. THEN the frightening part is to have to correct something- since then it will be harder to accept a "second explanation" or what ever. I do admit- it MAY be a bit more difficult to do IF we limit ourselves in any way- there are MASSIVE differences in todays world- than back in Jesus days here- which will make stuff easier to do as I said before. (not that I mind being here lol) I certainly don't know everything and am learning more all the time, but how is this different from what He's already done with me? If it is? Spiritual is only a PORTION of what Jesus was referring to and Yup. He did indeed say the Father was ready and willing to provide ALL OF YOUR NEEDS AND THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART AS WELL. Sooooooooooooooooooooooo- what DESIRES do you have that God CAN FILL? Support for a childcare center who needs a bit of financial boost? Putting a roof on a church that needs repairs? How about That abused person shelter you know (maybe) about that needs $5000 for better security and better facilities (refurbished restroom etc ) for their service to others? Do you have a SIMILAR desire of your heart to serve HIM if only you could divy up the money that support of others will take in this world? What IF- Jesus taught something about GOD PROVIDING FOR PHYSICAL SOLUTIONS TO OUR NEEDS AND DESIRES- That we have no busines passing UP since that teaching is FOR GOD'S KINGDOM if we become STEWARDS of God's own abundance- IF WE COMMIT FULLY TO HIS SON'S Mission? It isn't a "leash"- it's a YOKE- IE- something you will LOVE TO DO WHEN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT GOD is WAITING FOR YOU TO FOLLOW HIS SON PERFECTLY SO AS TO SEE THE FATHERS HAND AT WORK THROUGH YOU IN WHAT WILL SEEM MIRACULOUS WAYS. It's a whole different way of thinking- "leashed" and "yoked" under HIS BURDEN. ANd it IS a burden- -but one you will LOVE AND WANT EVEN MORE OF. Hey. Ya don't HAVE to have desires to help others in small ways- WITH GOD- The HUGE STUFF IS tiny. Think about it. WHAT ARE YOUR OWN NEEDS PERSONALLY? Think God can fill those too? Yup. That's one of His promises- FOR THOSE WHO WILL OBEY HIS SON. Won't be long- that first step will be ready- Keeps getting beter as I find more stuff in scriptures. Perfection... Possible? Yup... Not just money- TIME. What does it MATTER if you have "money" but do not have TIME to distribute it cuz yer so busy with "worldly pursuits". Jesus stuff isn't "work" per se- it's SERVICE to God through others we see in our pathway just a Jesus Himself did and so did the disciples AND OTHER COMMANDED ONES. (recall the 70 sent out 2x2. Believe me- you don't HAVE to receive His abundance. Just makes it available WHEN HE POINTS OUT A NEED TO FILL AS ONE OF HIS CHILDREN. It's not something you have to accept or so we think. But He did say "take my yoke upon you". THAT is one of those commands- "words" that He said will never pass away. Remember? BUT- yup. Yer free as a bird to NOT obey. It's not about you- it's about the needs of those around you. That help? To those who said "nah I dontwana- He said "why callest thou me Lord Lord- but do not do the things I tell you to do for me?" I'll sure Gordy will respond with his thoughts but had to give my 2 cents worth here! Yepper--I'm SURE you have indeed graduated but now there's more. Remember that bookstore-coffee shop you wanted to do? We both have abundance of His love, peace, joy etc. but not the abundance it takes to fill the NEEDS of those whose paths we cross. We are HIS vessels. Jesus said GREATER things will you do because I go to the Father. This has 'in part' to do with Feeding His Sheep and meeting NEEDS. When a person is starving they could give a rip about hearing about Jesus. They want FOOD not a--I'll pray for you--God is in control--yada-yada. This can be applied to many things that beset folks. I come to the blogs and read: I'm barely getting by, I lost my job, etc. etc. Folks are down and out. He came that we might have LIFE and have it to the full. Think about it. I mean wouldn't you love to have the resources to find out what happened to Joshua? Or as Gordy said do more for the place where you work? I would love to have the resources to travel around, find the place where He wants me to stop, spot needs AND be able to fill them. HIM thru me. These sort of things can't happen without abundance. The abundance isn't for us but to serve others. (course I'm SURE He wouldn't mind me having my own RV-lol)I've ALWAYS felt that something was 'missing'--that there was more. We're not doing the 'greater' things. This isn't how IMO He wants it or designed it to be. Babbling here--sorry-hehe. One last thing tho-lol. This sense that something was 'missing' has lead me down many roads. His plan I know but well...let's just say---wanna hear what Mr. Gordy has to say. I LOVE Pearls AND as always I take anything ANYONE says that has significance in my life to HIM. (did I make any sense?) Opps--got sidetracked and had't realized Gordy posted --Oh well gonna post anyway-lol.
