The singles group in Kelowna has set up a web site so we can connect better. In it I quoted the following, from Big boys don't cry
Divorce is typically more devastating for men since it forces them into unexplored territory. It hits men like a ton of bricks. One man said, "It hit me like a ton of bricks, it was like a death, but worse." It also changed him. "Since my divorce, I've had a much more emotional life. It's made me more sensitive to how I feel and more upfront with people, I think I might even make a better husband if the right person comes along."
I got an email from one of the guys in the group entitled, "Did you quote me on this?" then he quoted what I italicized above.
I was sure from the way he wrote the email, that I had somehow come across something he had shared confidentially. Our motto is: "What is said at our tables, stays at our tables." (Part way through our sessions, we divide up into about 12 tables to individualize the topic.)
To further complicate things, we have just become friends, and I am thinking about renting a part of his duplex.
Well, he wrote what he did, to express that what I had written, validated the feelings he had after going through his divorce.
Whew............
Eph 2:10 We are his workmanship (poiema, or poem, or work of art) created in Christ Jesus.
God is an artist and you are His masterpiece!

This was what i found when i did a divorce recovery course; males take it much harder than we realise. They are raised that cowboys don't cry and seem to find it hard to cope with emotions. God bless all

Men's group at church is similar. There is even a chapter of it in Austria.
Cover all sorts of subjects, married and single alike.
.
. Saying I am sorry is WORTHLESS without real repentance.
True or FALSE ?
Without a personal and intimate relationship with God, how can you ever realize the true identity and person of God?
Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you.
This time is short, serve Him well, serving all.
Without exception.

Personally, I don't see a problem with it since you didn't use his name, but I understand that confidentiality needs to be kept in confidence. GBY! Love you brother
in your life means Jesus is in your heart.
I_Am_1_Rib_Short replies on 10/10/2008 2:10 pm: As I have discovered here on BC, the fact a person's name is not mentioned, is irrelevant if too many facts are revealed. |

Its a rollercoaster ride emotionally....My opinion is woman have always dealt with their feelings and then we males get nailed with it the first time..we are very emotional, very angry!..Ive seen men grow from it including myself...I have seen a couple of times men just pretty much gave up...For Life!...No contact with their kids, bad relationships, very bitter,etc...I have experienced all those emotions you described....GOD Bless us all
I_Am_1_Rib_Short replies on 10/10/2008 2:06 pm: It sure is a roller coaster ride, isn't it? Sounds a tho we are both on the same path of growth GBU, Gary |
