After literally years of searching, I have finally found my church home.

In the late 70s, I had the privilege of attending a large church in
Gresham OR. where the life of Jesus was very evident. But then I was transferred to Boise.

Until 2 weeks ago, I have never been able to find a church that reflected that quality of life. If you have only ever had rice, you never know what a good steak tastes like. How do you decsribe what a steak tastes like to someone who has never tasted it? That is where I have found most churches to be. Some are lively, but don't have "life." Some are friendly but not hospitable.

The type of church I have searched for, I have described in my blogs outlining the difference between the church as a field and the church as a force.

I am "home", and it feels good.

Eph 2:10 We are his workmanship (poiema, or poem, or work of art) created in Christ Jesus.

God is an artist and you are His masterpiece!

Gary,

Congratulations on finding a church home. I remember traveling to California to go to church because we couldn't seem to find a church with the presence of the Lord in the Reno/Sparks area (and we visited several.) One Saturday night we went through the telephone directory and a church ad popped out at me. Sunday when we walked through the doors, we felt the power of the Lord; that was ten and a half years ago. It is so comforting knowing you are where God wants you

Don't judge each day by the Harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.

Thanks Shirl,

I would swear that the pastor has been following me around the past several weeks, listening to my conversations. Every week so far, he has taught on subjects that I have had discussions on with my friends.

For me, that is one thing I also look for in a church: Jesus is saying the same thing to the pastor as He is to the whole congregation, and the Sunday/Saturday sermon simply brings to a corporate level, what God has been saying all week.

Hi again, Gary!

Quoting you: "You must be a fellow (wait now, "fellow" that's male, so is it fellowette???) Canadian.

I'm a "Southern Belle"...from the state of Mississippi...living in Canada at the present! I'm not sure what that makes me now!

Quoting you again: "BTW, why are you sitting on the floor so much in your pics??"

hmmm... Good question! Never been asked that before!

Sitting on the floor helps me retain that youthful feeling! And it's good exercise, not the sitting part, but the getting up and down part! Good for the knees and joints!

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 2Cor. 4:3 KJV

A "Southern Belle" living in Canada???? a "Canadian Belle" but of course!!!!

Webster on belle (bel) [Fr., fem. of beau; see BEAU], 1. a very attractive woman or girl. 2. the most attractive or most popular woman or girl of a certain place or on a given location: as the belle of the ball.
............so am I flirting, or merely quoting
Webster???? ...only Webster knows for sure

I thought maybe you had fallen, and couldn't get up

I feel complelled to warn you that once you hit The "50" number, even the wrinkles hurt

Saying I am sorry is WORTHLESS without real repentance.

True or FALSE ?

Without a personal and intimate relationship with God, how can you ever realize the true identity and person of God?

Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you.

This time is short, serve Him well, serving all.

Without exception.

Fleeing ?

Thanks Marilyn

Just when I was about to give up, too! Seriously.

I feel so good about this that I have already gone to the leadership to address Biblical submission and accountability.
Blessings

Nevermind, I reread your post and you live in Boise but found a church like the one you liked so well that was in Oregon. Anyway, I am happy to hear you have found a church home!

in your life means Jesus is in your heart.

Awesome news, Gary! I've just returned to the church that I left, yup the same one that I said I had no desire to return to.....yet there is a new pastor and I have a feeling things will change for the better...I pray so! So far, I am enjoying it, though I have yet to get involved in ministry within the church.
Enjoy your new home my friend, may it bring glory to His name!

I pray your experience goes well as you go back to that church. Be blessed my friend.
