The Lord is for us and not against us. That is evident. God is so good. Not everything that happens to us will we understand or particularly wish to walk through. But the word says all things will work to the good of the believers in Jesus Christ. God is so warm and loving. He is the greatest parent we will ever know. The good parent is nurturing and patient and he also allows nature to take its course in our lives sometimes when we make decisions and do things that aren't the best things we could do. He doesn't stand behind us just waiting for us to mess up so he can jump down our throats. No good parent would do that. God is indeed relationship ruled. The Holy Spirit residing in us clearly proves this. Is your relationship with your Children and friends circumvented by regulations and laws? No it is driven by Love for one another. |

A former Pastor of mine (who was raised Catholic, but now he is an Evangelical, who was also considering becoming a Priest at one time) said that his idea of God was that God was just sitting up in heaven with a big baseball bat waiting for him to mess up, lol. Thankfully, he changed his viewpoint when he became a Pastor, but that is what he thought God was like for a long time.
