do you prune yourself if you are a branch? I think if we did that then we wouldnt be the branch anymore.
Our place is to abide and let the life giving essence of the vine flow through us and what it produces it does. If we need pruned, dont worry because he will do it. He has the shears.
Our lives are like a pelican. We dip in the ocean of life and then allow the Sun of God to dry us off as we hold up our wings. Then when we are dry we fly to the destinations that his wind takes us.
Blessings Dennis

I see pruning as something different than you do. I view it as God putting you through trials... to burnish off the dross.
I dont see pruning as trying to get rid of sins/bad habits.
Jn:15:2: Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
but it also says he that doesnt bear fruit He takes it away and so if it were true God does everything then nobody would be taken away. Therefore it must also have something to do with what WE do. Or else no branch would be cut off. Because God always fulfills His part.
Jn:14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments. --Jesus.

I hear Claudia as saying, we must remain from sin by choosing to remain from sin. Jesus Christ needed to come in order to fulfill the words of the old Prophets and to bring a new convenant to the people.(The Gospel) Being crucified was fulfillment of the Law and to take the sins away from the people - those people who choose to believe in Him and follow His teachings.
Just want you to know the way I read Claudia's post and not to start an argument.
Love you brother!
You are loved

not arguing Priceless. The word says that only the Holy Spirit can keep you from sin. Sin shouldnt be the issue to begin with. Letting Jesus live through you is what we are called to do. Otherwise it is on our own strength.
Why do people concentrate on whether or not they sin instead of living from a loving relationship with God. What she is talking about is legalism and not walking in the spirit

I think the Lord has passed up the pruners and hedge shears on me and gone for the power saw! It worked though, he has my attention!
