I don't want any drama here. Posting here needs to be rethought. One person here, Lynn made me think about something. She is the most sincere person on here that I know of. My last post was to push people in her direction because she took a step out of the boat to begin blogging after a long time of just lurking and occasional replies to other peoples posts.

I am guilty of the very thing that has hurt her. I do not answer each persons reply. I kinda throw them in and make a reply to all. Lynne's blog is ForeverHoping and I hope you will go and give her some love.

70 people viewed my post to direct some love her way and maybe 3 gave her some love.

I know one thing, She has shown me a blind spot and I plan to do something about it. From now on I am going to address each persons reply on my blogs. That is all that I have control over.

Validation is important to everyone whether one wishes to admit it or not. I think its not too much to ask even if all a person leaves is a Smiley after reading someones post. I know I try to reply in some way. Just so they know I was there.

Its just something to think about. Blogging etiquette. Many people want more unity. That takes effort and not lip service. I know I want to, in the future make that kind of effort. I appreciate people who do make comments. I am sure others do too.

God Bless

I have to add... a LOL
I blogged not long ago about all the 0 comments I had on blogs that were visited dozens of times.

Didn't change a thing.

Maybe I received a few more emails but that is about it.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dennis!

Thank you for writing this! I gave Lynn some love, in a comment and through the mail. She is indeed a wonderful, sincere, generous WOG. She was a contibutor to the BC bash, even though she could not attend. I got her a thank you card, which every guest signed. I printed her out an 8 x 10 pic of most of the BC members and sent her the same packet each guest got. She IS an excellent person.
So many times, I wanted to post a blog about blogging ettiquette, but did not because of not wanting to offend anyone. You have much more courage than I, lol.
I agree with you, any acknowledgement left on a blog is a good thing, it does validate the blogger and allow them to know they are read and appreciated. That's the least we can do. I also appreciate every comment and do my very best to respond to all.
God bless you!

I want to thank you ladies. My blog is not inteded to bring drama. I just think we all should really think. We can affect lives in a good way here. It takes us a minute or so to read a post and a few second to just reply.

Same with acknowleding someone who did reply.

So Terri, Rebekka,Ky, Pawpal. Thank You for your thoughts

Dennis, you are right on the mark. Although I have met a few friends from the chat room, I really haven't connected with people from the blogs. Perhaps it's because I'm a standard member. I receive perhaps 1 email per month on BC and that's usually a scammer. Blogging has become something like reading material but it really seems as though I'm watching a group of people who know each other well and have a circle of friends that's hard to join. Blessings to you.

Hi Dennis.
I am 100 percent guilty.
I browse through lots n lots of blogs (including yours) and often do not leave a comment.
You are certainly correct.
A short "Thanks" or "Hello" or just a smiley would surely make the author aware that someone cares.

Nancy, I have only seen you a couple of times. I am sorry that I have never stopped by to chat with you. It doesn't take long to start fitting in. So take courage and jump right in with both feet. People here are generous and caring. They will welcome you with open arms... Don't give up on them. Blessing to you today.

Hi Dennis,
Thank you again for your support. It's okay now,I was just having a very bad day yesterday, which left me vulnerable...But,we can't force anyone to act a certain way if they don't want to.Like you said,I have been visiting blogland for a while, occasionally posting here and there. Then I decided to try it,because some of you made it seem so easy and fun...Whether I'm successful at it or not,at least I tried, and that is good enough for me...

Peace be with you

Claudia. I like you. I have a story for you. I was adopted. My younger sister was adopted into another family, and we didnt know. Later in life I found out. She was a mess. I wanted so badly for her to know Jesus. It was a turn off. One day someone told me... why not just be her friend?

You are a beat person Claudia. Maybe others do not see it. I do. I do see however a person continually hiding behind a doctrine and never letting us know who you are. I think you should try that. You might be surprised

Dennis, Can you answer a question for me?
There was a blog a few days ago suggesting a Gen. Powell should be president?! I try to follow US as well as UK politics, but I've never heard of this man.
I left a simple question "Who is he?" but no-one responded.
I've never heard of him.
I must admit to feeling a bit like Nancy at the time, everyone got into 'blog conversation' and I felt a bit sidelined. But that's OK, I'm fine with that now, but no-one answered the post, and I still don't know who he is?
Thanks,
Pat.

Pat, General Colin Powell is an admired military leader who was the Secretary of Defense at one time (I could have the title wrong). He seems to be very centered and no nonsense. I don't think he's interested in the job though.

Dennis,

I tried that once on another Christian forum, and it didnt work out too well.

People who were against the things that I believe in turned around and used everything against me that I opened up and told them about myself ... later on.

I learned the hard way not to trust people on "Christian" Forums.

What I mean is, if Im having a hard day, that translates into, "You must not trust in God really, Claudia, and its obviously because of your beliefs, or your church". Now of course- anyone else who is having a hard day, its just because they are human.

Thats just the way that it is for me, Im a Seventh Day Adventist and so every flippin' thing that I do is watched and commented upon. At least thats how it was in another forum I was in. Its no fun but its what I have chosen.

Lynn & I have a special connection, I can't explain it, but I believe it's by divine appointment. I just want to make her a meal and hug her and pray God's blessings upon her, I pray one day I get that chance. She is beautiful and precious. Her pain is palpable and I feel it in the depths of my spirit.

Hi Pat,

Nancy gave you a answer. I respect his service in the military as I do all servicemen. The question on that boardpost was if he would make a good President. I do not believe he is all as advertised and have found him untrustworthy.

Dennis,
I don't always leave a comment in all the posts that I read because I don't always have something to say, but I do always respond to anyone who leaves one on mine - because I believe that is the right thing to do (blogging etiquette) and common courtesies to other people and acknowledgment as they have taken the time to read and respond to me.

It took me a very very long time before I decided to start posting - I've been on BC for years on and off and to be honest I really didn't like the blogs that much and it appeared to me that there were too many people here just preaching their own message or where people who did not have a legitimate place in their own church to do so.., but then I started to find people who were being real about their lives and their walk with the Lord and those are the ones that I usually follow the most, I am in a church that has great teaching and is a wonderful home church for me where I receive and serve in.

Then I started to comment on other's blogs and only a few months ago I started to do my own - I only do one if I have something I want to say or share. There are serious issues and then there a just fun things - it is so important to maintain a sense of humour.

So after all this - maybe I should go put this in a post since I seem to have had so much to say... (which I didn't mean to go on so).

Blessings,

K
